Bass Producer Tisoki and Emo Rap Pioneer LiL Lotus Combine Worlds in New Single

A staple within the bass music scene, UK-native producer Tisoki is starting the new decade with a bang. Fresh off a NYE performance at Insomniac’s Countdown festival, Dim Mak producer Tisoki is joined by emo rap pioneer Lil Lotus on “Promise,” a boundary-free composition that integrates elements of bass music with the passion and vulnerabilities of Lil Lotus’ emotive vocals. “Promise” follows Tisoki’s recent single “IT’S OK” and is the second look at the producers’ forthcoming sophomore EP, which is due to drop just in time for festival season. Tisoki will bring this new material on the road via his newly-announced five month North American Tour, which kicked off January 24th in Dallas, TX.

With Dim Mak boasting an extensive track record for signing and breaking cutting-edge artists in the states, Tisoki emerges with great promise and anticipation amongst his fans. The collaboration between Tisoki, who is currently spearheading a new wave of bass music, and buzzing rapper, singer, songwriter, Lil Lotus, combines heartfelt confessional lyrics and emo punk melodies with the raw and explosive instrumentation of trap and dubstep. The Fox Beach and Clinton O’Donnell-directed music video follows Tisoki and Lil Lotus on an introspective journey through Los Angeles at night, dropping into desolate parking lots, arcades, and carnivals, searching for answers. Shot on location with analog VHS cameras, the visual provides profound feelings of nostalgia, mirroring the song’s production and lyrics.

“I had such a great time making the record ‘Promise,’ Tisoki shares. “The majority of the synths are made with analog gear, giving it that gritty natural vibe which plays off Lil Lotus’ vocals super well,” he elaborates.

Tisoki is a producer from the UK, whose prominence in the electronic music scene has been proven by his impressive catalogue of dancefloor anthems and melody driven songs alike. Sampling his taste from a selection of different styles, Tisoki’s pallet has led to creations that exercise his prowess in dubstep and other bass heavy genres, whilst also indulging in music of a more eclectic form. This year he’s set to bring his sounds on the road, kicking off a major North American tour later this month, with more dates to be added in the near future. Like his namesake the lotus flower that blooms in muddy waters, Lil Lotus’s music grows from the pain of real-life experiences and he channels that emotion with each vocal performance. A pioneer of the emo rap genre, Lil Lotus emerged in 2017 with his influential Body Bag EP (featuring GothBoiClique collective members and friends Cold Hart and Nedarb) and has since signed to Epitaph Records, a label that influenced him in his formative years playing in post hardcore bands. LiL Lotus’ debut album on Epitaph is expected this Spring.
