French DJ and producer Mercer has remixed Bob Sinclar’s 2000 classic ‘I Feel For You’, out on Sinclar’s own Yellow Records on 28th February.
Part of the Pardon My French collective along with DJ Snake, Tchami and Malaa, Mercer’s remix comes on the 20th anniversary of the iconic original track. He delivers a deeper, more bass-driven take while losing none of the disco-house magic that made ‘I Feel For You’ so infectious,
Mercer is set to kick off his North American tour in Los Angeles on 28th February, with stops at Miami Music Week and California’s Beyond Wonderland later on in the tour.
Currently sitting at over 500,000 monthly streams on Spotify, the Frenchman has previously released on Spinnin’ Records, Mad Decent, Dim Mak and Tchami’s Confession imprint amongst others, while he is also the artistic director of DJ Snake’s First Class label. Born in the 80s, approach to producing and creating music is influenced by disco and house icons such as Quincy Jones, Michael Jackson and Kraftwerk.
‘I Feel For You’ peaked at #9 in the UK Singles chart when first released, later being eclipsed by Sinclar’s 2005 smash hit ‘Love Generation’, which hit #1 in Australia, Austria, Germany, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Hungary, Italy, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland amongst others.
A worthy rework of a bonafide French Touch classic, Mercer’s remix provides a modern take on ‘I Feel For You’ while losing none of the original’s magic.
