After becoming instant fan favorites with ‘Adagio,’ Double Touch are back on All Day I Dream with a sentimental new EP, ‘Greatest Day’—featuring a remix by Lee Burridge collaborator and label stalwart, Lost Desert.
‘Greatest Day’ makes for a distinctive record among Double Touch’s catalog, thanks to dulcet tones voiced by Reigan on both its tracks. The journey starts off on a mellow note, with its title track serving listeners soft piano chords and sweeping orchestral pads that work in tangent with Reigan’s songwriting to produce an effusive atmosphere. Lost Desert took on “Greatest Day” for his contribution, opting to go for a more dancefloor-centric direction with heavier kicks, added percussion, and emphasized synths.
“All I Want” brings the energy up slightly, with Double Touch rearranging instrumental layers from its preceding track into a blissful foundation for Reigan’s verses. As a whole, these tracks speak to the duo’s commitment to organic, classical-inspired approach to electronic production.
Double Touch is a fledgling project composed of renowned, Decca-signed pianist Van-Anh Nguyen, and ARIA Award-winning Mark Olsen. The two came together under the banner of deep house, using their expertise to craft dreamy shades of the genre with traditional touch via Van-Anh’s piano playing and Mark Olsen’s percussion work. Outside their ‘Adagio’ debut, Double Touch have also signed tracks onto All Day I Dream’s Winter and Summer samplers, in addition to travelling around the world alongside Lee Burridge in the time before lockdown. Double Touch’s music has also been signed to TRYBESof, Magician On Duty, and Astrx.
