What are you favorite things about Philadelphia and/or what are you looking forward to about visiting Philadelphia?
We’ve only been to Philadelphia once before while on tour and we were in and out so quickly we didn’t see anything. Looking forward to actually seeing more of the city & culture while we’re there this time.
What can attendees expect from your set at Made In America?
This is not a show…it’s a party!! If you’re expecting to just stand there, be cool, and watch – you’re going to be disappointed.
What other artist are you looking forward to seeing at the festival?
Hopefully we get to see as many artist as possible but we’ll probably be doing interviews lol…Would love to see Chance, Coldplay, & Rihanna but I have no idea what the schedule is at the moment.
What does it mean to you to play an artist curated (Jay-Z) festival, and do you think this will be a trend that carries over to the EDM community?
It feels good being trusted to thoroughly entertain a crowd…especially when your recommendation is from another artist. It lets us know we’re doing something right but it also pushes us to be even better. I actually hope the trend carries over to all genres including electronic. I learn about so many new artists & sounds when I’m in the studio with other artists…imagine if us as artist turned our personal playlists into events ourselves.
Made in America was created to bring together music and culture. How do you feel EDM music has affected our culture since the start of the festival in 2012?
EDM has really pushed the boundaries on how sounds are being used in all genres. Since 2012 you can hear & see a lot more experimentation in culture. People aren’t just stepping outside of their comfort zone…they’re expanding it.
Besides EDM what is you favorite sub genre played at Made in America (Hip-Hop / Rock / Alternative / R&B / Pop / Latin)?
Hmmm, that’s a tough one because lines b/t genres are so blurred now…I’ll keep it simple and just say Hip-Hop/R&B
What can we look forward to from you for the rest of 2016?
We have a new single debuting very soon called “Where You Are”. Other than that, Watch the Duck
