NINA’s ‘One Of Us’ EP is out August 11th.
Pre-order now:

NINA is a German pop singer and songwriter based in London, UK. Born and raised in Berlin, she began singing at the age of six and she moved on to classical training during her teens. NINA bridges together influences from the music she grew up with and from the contemporary artists she surrounds herself with today. NINA also cites Depeche Mode as one of her early musical influences and currently counts Kavinsky as one of her fans. NINA’s ‘My Mistake’ reached #6 in the UK Shazam advert charts, this followed up by her last release ‘Beyond Memory’, produced by Richard X and Sunglasses Kid, saw support from BBC Radio London and Idolator. The single was also the best selling pre-orders on iTunes UK and France, with remixes by Ministry of Sound DJs Nilesh Parmar and Liam Keegan (currently on rotation on MTV Dance), as well as Swedish producer Oscillian.

One Of Us was co-written by NINA and Oscillian and mixed by Grammy award winner Liam Nolan, notably known for his work on Adele’s album 25. Reflecting on her influence of 80’s synth-pop artists, in ‘One Of Us’ NINA presents an eclectic style that paces with the sparse instrumental atmosphere in verses but feels powerfully intimate in the choruses. Described by Idolator as “Lana Del Rey meets Robyn”, it’s evident NINAachieves a futuristic synth-pop style that flutters in reflective lyric writing and sultry vocal impressions. A rich tension can be found in the second track ‘Counting Stars’, driven by sombre arpeggios, throwback styled guitar plucks and a thrilling vocal track, the second face of the EP triumphs as a dreamy love-tale. The EP features characteristic remixes from the likes of Angger Dimas (Tiësto, Diplo, Steve Aoki, Vandalism), SJBRAVO and Douglas Holmquist (composer of synthwave game sensation PinOut).

‘One of Us’ represents a part of my life when I was growing up and it felt like I didn’t quite fit in. Life can be cruel sometimes, but writing poetry and music was my escape and really helped me get through tough times. I eventually figured out that there are people out there that want to help you. Even though we can’t see it at the time, we’re not alone and things do get better. The B-side ‘Counting Stars’ is a melancholic track, and tells the story of two lovers making a pact and escaping their lives in the only way they know.” -NINA
