LPX (Ms Mr + Neon Gold’s Lizzy Plapinger) Releases ‘My Best’ From Upcoming New Ep
LPX releases her third single off her upcoming EP called “My Best” HERE, describing it as: “A soundtrack for anyone just doing their fucking best to get by right now” to give strength and empower anybody else to keep the faith in these times. The EP title is tba and it will come out on the later side of this hectic year.
LPX is the genre-defying solo project of Lizzy Plapinger. Co-founder of boutique record label Neon Gold Records (Christine and the Queens, Haim, Charli XCX, Tove Lo, Marina, Ellie Goulding, Matt Maeson etc) and lead singer of alt pop darlings MS MR.
“My Best” has been produced, just like “Delayed Gratification”, by Mike Irish (PrettyBoyShav, Silver Sphere, Julian Lamadrid, Kirby). An exasperated but determined and timely anthem about being impatiently patient, “will I ever prove I’m living to choose a life where I leave a sound.” Born from a self produced new wave grunge bedroom pop demo and brought to life by producer Mike Irish. “Delayed Gratification” was originally to be released in conjunction with tour dates supporting Maggie Rogers as well as Carly Rae Jepsen, which are now postponed due to COVID-19.
Her previous single “New Mood” HERE, an undeniable banger in the style of Karen O and Kathleen Hanna, announced her hotly anticipated forthcoming third EP produced by creative partner and collaborator Mike Irish. “Recorded in a visceral one take adrenaline rush, it’s an anthem for change, breaking habits, committing to and wanting more of oneself.”
LPX finds Lizzy front and center establishing herself as a modern DIY heavyweight. A proud New Yorker and independent artist, her music toys with a kaleidoscope of styles from new wave to grunge, punk to pop, to create something entirely her own rooted in her signature authentic lyrical style and raw vocals.
She’s been steadily building fans and notoriety on her own with two EPs, Bolt in the Blue (2018) and Junk of the Heart (2019) to great critical acclaim (Vogue, Playboy, Interview, Billboard, V Mag, Paper, Dazed, Nylon etc). As well as boasting a bombastic live show and dedicated touring history supporting artists such as Haim, MØ, Glass Animals, X Ambassadors, Marina, and Bloc Party to name a few. While also shredding (and curating) Festival Stages like Fall Classic in DC, ripping international airwaves with three #1s at Triple J radio in Australia (including her collab with What So Not, “Better”) and soundtracking shows like Greys Anatomy, Impulse and Marvel. She’s a bold and infectious force to be reckoned with, both visually and sonically.
