Moon Boots, aka Pete Dougherty, has today released his debut album, First Landing, via Anjunadeep. (“One of the hottest electronic labels in the world” – Hype Machine)
The 10-track LP features an eclectic blend of styles and BPMs, showcasing Moon Boots’ ability to journey through a wide-ranging variety of music, not only in his live sets but also through his recorded projects as well. The influence of other genres outside of dance music is clearly apparent, and Moon Boots seamlessly fuses elements of jazz, funk and even classical into a pristinely-produced body of music. The album features a number of vocal collaborations, including tracks with Fiora, Lulu James, Antony & Cleopatra and Janelle Kroll; as well as emerging talents King Kona, Nic Hanson and Black Gatsby.
Whilst the albums vocal singles have been championed by international radio tastemakers like the BBC’s Annie Mac and KCRW’s Jason Bentley, Moon Boots has also won underground acclaim from the likes of Joris Voorn, Gorgon City, Tensnake, Skream, Âme and Tiga.
Moon Boots is just the fourth artist to have released a debut album on Anjunadeep, joining Dusky, Lane 8 and Cubicolor as the only artists to release their debut projects on the lauded deep house-offshoot of Above & Beyond’s iconic label, Anjunabeats. First Landing marks the ninth artist album that Anjunadeep has released.
To celebrate the release of First Landing, Moon Boots has a number of tour dates across North America in the coming months, including dates in Brooklyn, Washington DC, Portland, Mexico City, Philadelphia, San Francisco, LA, and Detroit. More info on the tour & album can be found here.
