Lady Bee And DJ Jah Connect on New Dancehall-Trap Single ‘STARLIFE’ Featuring Dutch/Jamaican Vocalist Jula Fatstash
Lady Bee & DJ Jah enlist vocalist Jula Fatstash for their newest collaboration “STARLIFE,” out November 8 via Mad Decent’s Good Enuff. On the new release, three Dutch artists come together in a genre-defying celebration of Caribbean dancehall, bass and trap.
With a decade-long DJ career under her belt prior to becoming an accomplished producer, Lady Bee has an innate knowledge of how to effectively light up a crowd. She imparts this wisdom on “STARLIFE,” where a bass-heavy drop and energizing horns amplify Jula Fatstash’s Jamaican vocal chops.
Lady Bee’s hip hop, moombahton and trap flavors give a big room energy to the vocally-driven track, fitting perfectly on Mad Decent’s melting pot discography of global genres. Lady Bee is a Mad Decent mainstay; in 2016, the accomplished Amsterdam talent spun an official mix on label head Diplo’s BBC Radio 1Xtra show Diplo & Friends, and her single “WHEELS IN MOTION” was added to the radio show’s “Best of 2016” list.
Recently, Lady Bee hosted her fifth annual ‘Lady Bee Invites’ showcase at ADE alongside Apedrums, Dirtcaps, Sidney Samson and “STARLIFE” collaborator DJ Jah. Prior to the sold out event, Lady Bee rocked the Mad Decent stage at Mysteryland 2017 alongside Dillon Francis, Grandtheft, Flosstradamus, NGHTMRE and more.
Beyond her lengthy history of Mad Decent releases (since 2013), Lady Bee has seen releases out on Dim Mak, Spinnin’ Records, Lowly Palace, Trapcity and Mixmash.
