LA-based Artist MRY Releases New Single ‘Walking On Fire’
Many dream about it every day when clocking into work; “What if I just picked up and pursued my passion full-time?” Los Angeles-based artist MRY fell into the rare category of risk-takers who left a secure career as an engineer for the vagabond’s life of a songwriter.
“I started writing songs as a way to escape this routine I had settled into while working as an engineer,” shares MRY. “I had always felt out of place at the office, but writing songs allowed me to be myself. I eventually decided it was worth the risk of leaving my corporate job to pursue music full time rather than sticking with something that was secure but unfulfilling.”
With years spent honing his craft out on his own often wandering between Echo Park and Silver Lake, MRY found his songwriting sweet spot during his early morning drives up the Pacific Coast Highway after finishing his graveyard shift in Malibu and linking up with producer Mario Rodriguez of That’s Nice.
After unveiling his debut single, “Way We Go,” which premiered on Earmilk and his since amassed over 27k streams on Soundcloud, MRY is now gearing up to release his latest indie-pop vision, “Walking On Fire.”
MRY details, “‘Walking On Fire’ is a song about looking up into space and dreaming back into a summer escape as you feel autumn closing in.”
