PREMIERE: GNOMONS Release Debut Single ‘NO LOVE’
The Pop Duo. Gnomons Release an Electronic Masterpiece for Their Debut Single
‘No Love’ is the debut track from power pop duo, Gnomons. This song is the perfect revenge anthem for your ex, denying past lovers of any semblance of sympathy; “I was loving it, but now I’m just hating for the hell of it.” The track is expertly produced by the groups two members, Rex Riot and Basscamp, using perfected electronic soundscapes to support a stunning female vocal from pop artist Sydney Franklin and songwriting alongside prolific writer Dave Gutter (David Bowie,Susan Tedeschi, Pretty Lights, Griz, Gramatik, Carlos Santana, Eric Clapton, Aaron Neville, Derek Trucks, Eric Krasno, Res, Rustic Overtones). This song is the first single off of their forthcoming debut EP, ‘The Radio People’, coming in early 2018. Known for their work individually, the two producers have spent the past two years shaping this collaborative project. This single release showcases Gnomons’ era-blending style, merging intimate, piano-driven verses with a satisfyingly bass-heavy drop– bringing together each sonic element into one signature sound. Gnomons is a pop electronic duo made up of producers Rex Riot and Basscamp. Known previously for their solo projects — Rex Riot for his work with Designer Drugs, Misun, and OWSLA; Basscamp through his remixes of Tiesto, Son Lux, and Lorde. While electronic at its core, Gnomons surprises with a strong, vocal-centric, pop sensibility. By blending elements of soul, funk, and disco the duo has created a sound that is both timeless in its reference to a rich musical past and bold in its eye towards the future.
BIO: Rex Riot began writing music at 14 years old, drawing inspiration from the Drum and Bass and Electroclash movements of the UK as well as the hardcore scene in his home city of Washington, DC, and from the Jazz roots of his family to his own Classical school training. From these roots, and his growing eclectic blend of influences, he creates a sound that pushes electronic music to the progressive and intellectual edge, and has placed him on stage alongside artists like Skrillex, Kill the Noise, Mat Zo, and Lemaitre. His track “Head Vice” led Nintendo’s multinational Wii U campaign and he has had releases across top labels, including OWSLA’s Nest, So Much Dada, Play Me Records, T&A Records, and Moveltraxx.
BIO: When a man is born in Minnesota – a state known for having 10,000 lakes – it’s entirely possible that he could excel at making that many styles of music, as done by producer Basscamp. Priding himself on creating both an, “auditory and physical interaction” with his music, Basscamp’s rare style has garnered millions of plays online and matched him alongside artists like Baauer, Purity Ring, Snakehips, Flosstradamus, The Bloody Beetroots, Crookers, The M Machine, and Ryan Hemsworth. His popularity is deeply tied to an ear for mixing familiarity in ways unexpected. Support for his work comes from all over including Tiesto, Manila Killa, Bro Safari, Infuze, Viceroy, and Big Dope P.
