There is no better way to kickstart a new decade than with new music from the one and only DJ FRESH, who after a brief hiatus from chart domination, returns today with his brand new single ‘Drive’.

Since the early 2000’s the name DJ Fresh has been synonymous with innovation, but after 20 years of success in the music industry including signing acts like Pendulum and Chase and Status to his label Breakbeat Kaos, Fresh took a step back from touring and playing global shows to concentrate on his health, following a thyroid cancer diagnosis in 2016. He attended a Ruby boot-camp and became a Machine Learning Developer at a leading education research company in Oxford, where his work helped to win innovation awards.

Back better and healthier than ever before, Fresh aka Dan Stein, returned to the studio in 2019 to start working on new magic and as a result of that, ‘Drive’ was born.

The track bares all the signature qualities of a sound that Fresh has carefully carved over the years – It’s innovative, euphoric, uplifting and galvanising. The track feels like a celebration, even though it’s origins stem from a darker place. Dan was inspired to write the track whilst in radiotherapy sessions during his treatment. During these sessions he was held in isolation and the overwhelming sense of feeling trapped behind lead doors due to being radioactive, led to a song about wanting to escape from his environment and feel a sense of freedom.

An acclaimed DJ and producer, DJ Fresh is widely recognised as one of the UK’s most influential electronic music artists. Having released three studio albums, scored #1 singles with ‘Louder’ and ‘Hot Right Now’, and sold millions of records to date, Fresh has been at the forefront of dance music’s mainstream resurgence.
