CALL ME LOOP Embodies Female Empowerment on ‘DRAMA’ EP
Under her adopted alias, Call Me Loop spent 2018 making serious waves with her brand of infectious left-of-centre pop. She shows no signs of relenting in 2019 after unleashing a string of undeniable pop hits such as Silly Boy and Business. Today [March 8th 2019] the hotly-tipped newcomer releases her highly anticipated EP Drama, which is available globally now.
Drama is the culmination of who Call Me Loop is as both an artist and outspoken, self-expressive songwriter. Known for her unfiltered and relatable lyrics, Drama is remarkably fun, bold and holds absolutely nothing back. Featuring five eminently unique and dynamic tracks, the EP truly has the ability to connect with and relate to listeners without fail.
Call Me Loop begins the EP with Business, featuring her signature, silky vocals backed by infectious, driving beats. The latest single, Silly Boy displays a fresh, breezy production and is a less introspective, more carefree take on romance in comparison to the intro track. The title track showcases Call Me Loops vocal prowess and proves her ability as a frontrunner amongst her peers, stripping things back whilst still being a steady contender for a dancefloor bop.
On the body of work, Call Me Loop explains; I’m so excited to release Drama. I feel like it’s a perfect reflection of where I am right now as both a writer and an artist. Each song reveals a different side of me, and I know from playing these tracks live just how relatable listeners find the messages within them. That’s my favourite thing about songwriting and performing; sharing my stories with people and seeing them connect so strongly with them – and then all having a sing and a dance and a laugh along to them!
Call Me Loop is an explosive young popstar whose infectious hooks and innovatively produced tracks are winning her fans and critical praise alike. Shes made an instant impression – receiving support from the likes of BBC Radio 1, 1Xtra, The Times, GQ, The Line of Best Fit, Wonderland Magazine, Popjustice and Notion among others. She was also championed by MTV as one of their Push artists in February, performing a special show alongside Lizzo and Madison Beer.
Aside from working on her own music, Call me Loop was enlisted on a single from dance act Davai, along with local Swede Lisa Ajax on Cry Like Kim K as well as the recent collaboration with DUSK on their latest single New Habit.
Currently residing in South London, Call Me Loops early musical loves were the mega popstars of the 90s, Christina Aguilera, Beyonce, Rihanna, Amy Winehouse, Justin Timberlake. More recently, Call Me Loop has taken influence from the likes of Julia Michaels, Halsey, Tove Stryke and many more. Taking inspiration from these talented artists has helped Call Me Loop forge her own musical identity that showcases her English charm; this has seen her allude to the likes of Anne Marie crossed with Lily Allen.
Perfectly summing up her own style as sassy, emotive electronic pop, Call Me Loop evokes all the best qualities of a popstar: a commanding, vibrant presence combined with an effortlessly cool charm.
