TEEN ARTSIT DESMOND JOHN RELEASES ‘CONFESSIONS’
Having accrued over 25K followers on Instagram over the past few months alone, Desmond John returns with a cover of Usher’s “Confessions” which is available on all streaming services now.
The track comes after Desmond John’s mash-up of “Shape of You / Mercy” which hit 30,000 views on YouTube after just 3 weeks of being online – a staggering feat for an emerging artist.
A singer, songwriter and musician, Desmond John was born in Germany to a South African mother and British father. He spent his formative years in Frankfurt and Johannesburg, but calls Cape Town his home and has recently also spent time in the UK and Atlanta, USA. An avid footballer, as a young boy Desmond John dreamed of achieving fame on the field. However, having both a sporty and a musical bent, from the age of thirteen he began expressing himself through music.
Drawing his inspiration from legends such as Michael Jackson, Bruno Mars, Babyface, Justin Timberlake and Drake among others, Desmond John has developed his own compelling sound – part pop, part R&B, with richly layered vocals.
This summer Desmond John (who has collaborated with the likes of Kuk Harrell – the production powerhouse who has been pivotal in Rihanna’s career and has also worked with Justin Bieber and Beyoncé) will be launching a series of covers to accompany ‘Confessions’.
