CAPYAC Releases New Single ‘Afterhours’ featuring MOONZz

CAPYAC is a surreal dance act made up of members P. Sugz and Potion. To question the origins of the band is to ponder the origin of humanity itself, when founding member Potion stumbled upon the name, half-conscious on his bedroom floor at 3 a.m, it was nonsense.

Not long after, Potion performed his first show at the 2014 closing party of Wardenclyffe Gallery, it was that summer that Potion asked P. Sugz to joined the band. From that moment it was a flurry of late night sets and caffeine filled studio debauchery that CAPYAC created a unique sound out of their diverse musical backgrounds.

The duo gained notoriety online after their debut EP, ‘Movement Swallows Us’ in 2015, followed up by releases on Lavish and Crosswalk Records. Their full-length album ‘Headlunge’ was released summer 2016, and was followed by an extensive US/European tour. Furthering into 2017, the duo released the song “Cloud” with French label Crosswalk Records and made exciting appearances at Austin City Limits, Euphoria Music Festival, SXSW and Red Bull Sound Select.

Their first collab release of 2018 is ‘Afterhours’, a groove-ridden electronica number that places the duo’s wild synth-friendly sound to the forefront. CAPYAC display a combination of lush percussion sounds and experimental synth arpeggiators that ring influences of producers, such as SBTRKT and salute. The track lends its hand to the soulful vocalist MOONZz who details a story of unrequited love bouncing around an array of pulsating electronics and percussion rhythms.

With an exciting performance set at SXSW this year, CAPYAC is sure to capture the attention from new and old fans everywhere with their raucous live show and their latest infectious single.
