Freestyle electronic music artist Bassnectar has announced his newest EP, Reflective, out everywhere on June 16th. The EP is the first half of a two-part series, with the second half scheduled for release later this year. Reflective Part One is a collection of six songs, which span the spectrum of genres and style: deep, diverse and creative. It features Bassnectar’s many underground collaborators: Gnar Gnar, Born I Music, Mimi Page, Macntaj, G Jones, and Dorfex Bos, and today’s announcement is accompanied by two visuals for “Underground” and “Horizon”; both songs are available now as instant grats with all pre-orders. In usual Bassnectar fashion he will continue to merge audio and visual into one with the four remaining singles also receiving visualizers of their own on release day. During the last week, Bassnectar has built anticipation amongst his dedicated fan base by releasing several sound bytes of his new music. He has also been heard dropping sneak peeks in his shows, like G Jones collab “Underground”, at several festivals nationwide. Stay tuned for more coming next week.

With a summer full of headlining festival plays, the Bassnectar team has designed two very distinct special events. This July, The Freestyle Sessions, launches in Colorado: a unique back-to-basics experiment which features 3 free-for-all DJ sets of music from Bassnectar’s vast record collection. This intimate 3-day event is a tribute to the 1990 underground rave scene, and will include every genre and sub genre imaginable: b-sides, rare grooves, unreleased music, and everything from acid jazz to downtempo trip-hop, to old school breakbeats, drum & bass, experimental hip-hop and beyond. More info, ticket links and full lineups are available.

In September he’ll cap off the summer festival season with the 10th anniversary edition of his iconic Bass Center event at Hampton Coliseum in Virginia, taking over the arena and parking lot for the yearly 3-day fiasco. Bassnectar and his team will be transforming the Coliseum into their own magical world, with a state of the art lineup and a billion tricks up their sleeves. Fans are encouraged to hit up the Bass Network if they want to participate in the various interactive art projects which the community is known for. Tickets, lineups and all info can be found here.
