Tonight, Audien and 3LAU will play a B2B set at EDC Vegas, performing on the Circuit Grounds (Stage 3). It will be streamed live on Red Bull TV. Fans can view itHERE.
Audien (a.k.a. Nathaniel “Nate” Rathbun) said, “There’s something about collaborating with a friend that encourages risk-taking, dares you to dig deeper sonically, and reminds you of why you make music for a living. 3LAU and I had an absolute blast making ‘Hot Water,’ and the amazing response from crowds that have already heard us play it out has reassured us that we’ve got something special.”
3LAU (a.k.a. Justin David Blau) recalled, “Audien & I wanted to make a song that stayed true to our euphoric roots, but that explored a mixture of genres. We wanted to create something that people wouldn’t expect; the result was this dark cathartic landscape of sound that I couldn’t be more proud of!”
“Hot Water” follows Audien’s recent collaboration with MAX, “One More Weekend,” which was hailed as “your weekend pleasure anthem” by Dancing Astronaut. A Top 10 Dance Airplay single, the track has more than two million YouTube plays and over 3.5 million Spotify streams. Audien’s “Crazy Love” featuring Deb’s Daughterhit #1 on the Mediabase Dance Airplay Chart twice while 2015’s “Something Better” featuring Lady Antebellum has 50 million streams to date and has sold more than 250,000 downloads. His remix of Bastille’s chart-topping hit “Pompeii” was nominated for a GRAMMY. Audien’s Feels Trip tour, underway now, will include a performance at New York City’s Electric Zoo in September. The run has included sold-out shows at San Francisco’s Regency Ballroom, Chicago’s Concord Music Hall, and New York’s Marquee Nightclub.
Prior to “Hot Water,” 3LAU released “On My Mind” featuring Yeah Boy through his record label, BLUME. The mission of Blume is to donate proceeds to charity. Thus far, 3LAU has pledged to donate $30,000 from “On My Mind” to the ACLU. The song’s music video, which came out in May, starred New England Patriots’ Rob Gronkowski and WWE’s Mojo Rawley. In 2016, 3LAU and Yeah Boy collaborated on “Is It Love.” The success of this song helped raise $275,000 which BLUME then donated to Pencils of Promise, a non-profit responsible for building schools and funding educational programs around the world. 3LAU has made a name for himself through his collaborations and remixes. His melodic take on dance music, incorporating elements of House and Bass, has led to tracks with Botnek, Bright Lights, Luciana, Yeah Boy, MAX and many others as well as official remixes for such artists as Rihanna (“Desperado”), Katy Perry (“Bon Appétit”), Zedd (“Spectrum”) andAriana Grande (“Into You”). 3LAU’s fans will be able to catch some of these songs and more during his summer tour which will include performances at numerous festivals, including Lollapalooza.
