ARIUS Unleashed New Single ‘Rise’ Featuring Born I Music on Dim Mak
Unafraid to take genre-defying risks, California bass duo ARIUS enlists the help of versatile hip-hop MC Born I Music for their menacing new single “Rise,” executive produced by Gareth McGrillen of Knife Party and Pendulum. Featuring thunderous trap drops, dubstep wobbles, and Born I Music’s spitfire rhymes, this collaboration exudes relentless and hard-hitting vibes. Recently signed to Dim Mak, “Rise” follows the pair’s recent label debut “Bring Back My Wobbles,” available as a free download.
“Since I came across these guys, I have loved their production and performance style,” says McGrillen of ARIUS. “I’m so excited they’re getting their music out there finally for people to hear and have loads more to come!”
Adept at engineering weighty progressions and piercing drops with indie elements sprinkled throughout, ARIUS amalgamates relentless beatmaking and hypnotic choreography with ferocious finger drumming into their signature grime-filled renditions of dubstep, trap, and bass music. The epitome of a powerhouse couple, ARIUS is comprised of producer and dancer Matt “Dumbo” Nguyen and skilled finger drummer, vocalist, and professional model Tessa Lizz. Moreover, Matt’s dance crew Poreotics were crowned the season five champions on America’s Best Dance Crew and Tessa’s finger drumming videos have helped ARIUS go viral on YouTube, including their “Best of ARIUS” video, a mashup of original tracks that has seen 5.5M+ views, among others. As a multi-hyphenate team, ARIUS continues to shatter perceptions in dance music by doing it all. Making appearances at shows around the world including Storyland Music Festival, Digital Wonderland Hawaii, Foam Wonderland, Big Dub Festival, and others, the up-and-comers artists are on track for global domination.
Lending vocals to “Rise” is burgeoning rapper Born I Music. No stranger to working with ARIUS, the trio have toured together in the past and linked up on “SBs & Tattoos” earlier this year. Additionally, the rising artist has opened up for Virgil Abloh and has collaborated with Riot Ten and Jarvis, amongst others. In a breakout 2017, Born I Music was also featured on Bassnectar’s “I’m Up” alongside Gnar Gnar, racking up over 1.5M plays to-date. Known for bridging the gap between hip hop, trap, and dance music, the DC-native is preparing to release his debut album Gold Chains and Meditation.
