5 & A Dime Releases New Single ‘Flying High’ feat. Yashar Gasanov via Lowly Palace
Dance veteran 5 & A Dime’s Lowly Palace debut has manifested itself in the introspective collaboration with Yashar Gasanov in “Flying High.” 5 & A Dime and Lowly find commonality in experimentation with “Flying High,” the original showcasing a cold and sensual instrument production background, embracing soundscapes that doubles as a juxtaposition relief for fans of both brands. Gasanov’s vocal performance atop of relaxing, groovy mid-tempo beats comes off naturally gripping and easy to settle into.
Philly native 5 & A Dime quickly turned heads in 2010 with a series of attention-grabbing mashups. His popularity translated into tour support in 2013 for Steve Aoki and Kendrick Lamar, playing 10 and 21 stops with each artist respectively. Later that year he began producing his own originals, which played on Sirius XM Guest Mix, Tiesto’s Club Life, and BBC Radio 1. These past couple years. singles like “Pipes”, “Mental”, and “Thump” gained the support of DJ Snake and The Chainsmokers at festivals like Ultra, EDC Las Vegas, Coachella, Tomorrowland, and many more. As he continues the evolution of his craft, 5 & A Dime is working on a very special project that goes beyond the bounds of current live music performance.
This track means a lot to me as I was going through a very rough time in my life. I wanted to convey some level of sadness in the song lyrics but have the beat be very smooth. I didn’t want this song to follow my previous “banger” energy, and I think the track really shows how I felt at the time. Overall, I’m happy to release this song and thus release what I was going through. It feels like getting something off my chest. -5 & A Dime
